A Full Plate Chautauqua January 27th Family Event

Schedule: 4pm-8pm Creston Community Complex Creston Room

Over the past year we have been inspired by, hosted, collaborated and promoted various aspects of our growing food sector. On January 27th, we will culminate with 'A Full Plate Chautauqua', a family event bringing together educational, participatory and entertaining activities with an agricultural theme.

Ongoing Activities:

  • Art display, A Full Plate slide shows and videos with Richard Reeves.
  • Creston Museum Display: Canada 150 Historical Events plus Born to the Soil exhibit and "Type a Story", Creston Library Display and more.
  • Fields Forward Agricultural Mapping Project presentation and participation, information from local vendors and organizations including the CV 100th Fall Fair, Dan McMurray Seed Bank.
  • 4pm-6pm children's activity centres.
  • stamping- fabric collage- rock painting (you can bring a favourite rock)- face painting- felt pen art.

  • 4:00 - The Aaron and Max Francis Show
  • 4:30 - Interactive Family Music Making with Ellie Reynolds
  • 4:50 - Tim Plouffe Musician
  • 5:10 - Suzanne Chubb and Tammy Bradford: poetry and more
  • 5:20 - Joanna and Bob: a couple of musical ditties
  • 5:30 - Luanne Armstrong, Joan Hedstrom, Bonnie Boldt and Pete Schloss: spoken word collaboration
  • 6:00 - Story Telling plus with the Ewashens - Julie, Larry and Alec
  • 6:30 - Line dance demo Jennifer Wolf
  • 7:00 - Kokanee Brass
  • 7:30-8:30 - Karl Sommerfeld, Velle Weitman Huscroft, Kalen Huscroft: Contra Dance
